Peace With Justice Sunday

Your gift on Peace with Justice Sunday strengthens the capacity to act as a global advocate of public policy?
United Methodists relate to this special Sunday by seeking peaceful solutions, creating and supporting peace-related ministries in their conference and learning about peaceful, just efforts around the world. The General Board of Church and Society Church holds a non-governmental, consultative status with the United Nations. This status allows us to participate in UN meetings, consultations and conferences. We partner with the World Council of Churches, interfaith and ecumenical bodies, and secular organizations for social-justice policies and programs that seek the wholeness of shalom for all of God’s people. Through this ministry, the church joins God in the work of social transformation. We recognize and renew our call for social transformation, for the quest to open the doors of opportunity for all, to distribute resources more equitably, and to provide better care for persons in need.

ABOUT PEACE WITH JUSTICE SUNDAY (PWJS)
Peace with Justice is a faithful expression of shalom in the Bible. It calls the church to strengthen its capacity to advocate publicly in communities and nations throughout the world. It aims to make shalom visible and active in people's lives and communities by setting people free from bondage. We will celebrate Peace with Justice as witnesses to God's demand for a faithful, just, disarmed and secure world. The offering is administered by the General Board of Church and Society and benefits peace with justice ministries in the Annual Conferences and around the world.

On Sunday, June 15, envelopes will be available in the Sanctuary, Narthex, and Friendship Center.
You can also mail your check payable to FUMC to 210 W Church St, Champaign, IL 61820 with “Peace with Justice Sunday” written on the memo line, or go online to www.champaignfumc.org and click on GIVE. Be sure to designate your gift for Peace with Justice Sunday. Thank you!
