Sunday School Teacher

Prepare and creatively team teach a one hour Christian lesson to Middle or Senior High School youth; September – May.

Substitute Sunday School Teacher

Fill in or assist in a class on a Sunday morning, as needed.

Summer Sunday School Teacher

Prepare and lovingly co-teach the Christian message on a Sunday morning, June-August; based on a published curriculum.

Confirmation Mentor

Spend time and get to know a middle school teen one (1) hour monthly or bi-weekly Sept. to May (or all year round); to share who you are as a Christian and to help them discover themselves as a Christian; to attend an orientation and mid-year meeting with other mentors.

Confirmation Dinner Assistants

Plan, set up, prepare or order food, and serve (along with 7th graders!) the families of the 8th grade Confirmands; usually the evening before Confirmation Sunday, usually late May.

Youth Ministry Team

Assist Director of Youth Ministries to provide a safe and inviting place where our youth can meet, grow and live in Christ; meets several times a year to vision, plan and pray for our youth ministry.

Middle School Sunday Night Group Leader(s)

Adults are needed to facilitate UM Youth Fellowship. This includes leading in-depth discussions on how faith can be applied to their lives and our world today. Evening agendas and resources are provided.

High School Sunday Night Group Leader(s)

Adults are needed to facilitate UM Youth Fellowship. This includes leading in-depth discussions on how faith can be applied to their lives and our
world today. Evening agendas and resources are provided.

Appalachia Service Project

Work with a team of leaders, to recruit, train and fellowship with leaders and youth who will participate on a 9-day spiritual “life changing” summer mission trip to Appalachia; normally January–July.

Bible Study Facilitators

Facilitate a weekly Bible study with a small group of middle school or high school youth. Preparation and additional weekly contact with our youth is suggested.

Middle School Service Project

A three day mission opportunity for middle school youth, usually in June. Locations could include Chicago, Indianapolis, Cincinnati or St. Louis. Adults are needed to be present and help with planning.

Central Lunch Helpers

Adults are needed to be present at FUMC Thursdays from 11-12:30 to build relationships with Central High School students as they eat their lunch in our youth area. Some help with food set-up and clean up is also necessary, but mainly just eating with our youth.

Holiday Cookie Baking Coordinator

We need someone to arrange for shifts of youth to help as well as purchase ingredients. The event is scheduled for December.

Holiday Cookie Baking Assistants

This job would be for those interested in helping the students bake in Fellowship Hall Kitchen.

Christmas Party Helper(s)

Help with one or all of the planning, set-up, food preparation, partying with our youth, and clean up for our Christmas party.

Diversity Coordinator

Work with Director of Youth Ministries to provide opportunities for the youth to interact with people of different ages, ethnicities & religions.

Drivers

Assist with occasional (about once or twice a month) transportation needs for special events, outings, retreats, etc., to transport students from point A to point B and back!

Meal Providers

Each Sunday evening, a light dinner will be available for students. This job will require you to prepare, serve and clean up after the meal. Meal suggestions will be provided.

Middle School Retreat Assistants

Assist with the Middle School Fall retreat.

Outdoor Adventure Assistants

Help plan opportunities for youth to engage in outdoor experiences. On a semester basis.

Prayer Team

Pray for the specific needs of the youth of our church and the adult and teen leaders who work with them. You will receive an email of prayer concerns on a regular basis. Prayer Team members are asked to pray for these areas when the email message is received.

Service Partners

Help provide a variety of monthly service opportunities within our community to help our youth explore and use their spiritual gifts. One Saturday or Sunday per month.

Ski Trip Coordinator

Coordinate ski rental, meals, and transportation.

Ski Trip Adult Sponsor

Travel with the students on the Ski Retreat to Wisconsin. Parents must have permission from their son/daughter to go on the retreat!

Spring Break Trip Coordinator

Coordinate the spring break trip with our youth and our Director of Youth Ministries. This trip is to examine social justice and leadership as we serve and learn about the world around us.

Super Bowl Party Coordinator

Organize snacks for the party and/or host the party at your own home on Super Bowl Sunday. Parents, please check with your student first to make sure this is okay.

Boy Scout Troop #1

Assist troop leaders by providing adult leadership and guidance on outings; to serve as counselors for merit badges; to provide service projects in which Scouts can help to earn their service hours while benefiting the Church and its members; no previous Boy Scout experience is necessary.

Venturing Crew #1

Assist crew leaders by providing adult leadership and guidance with this co-ed high school and college-aged crew; to serve as counselors for merit badges; to provide service projects in which Crew can help to earn their service hours while benefiting the Church and its members; both men and women are needed and no previous experience is necessary.
