Local Outreach Ministry Team
Help this team identify, address, inform, provide opportunities and motivate to action members & guests of our congregation; for people who find great joy and personal satisfaction knowing their time, talents and gifts provide support and comfort for people in need right here in our community; meets 4th Thurday evening each month.
After-School Mentor Program
Assist with planning and implementing an after-school program for older elementary students. Based on “teamwork” concepts.
Clothing Room
Work at empty tomb, inc. receiving, sorting and organizing clothing donations for distribution to those in need; 4th Saturday morning each month.
Community & Shelter Programs
Help at a local shelter by serving lunch or dinner; to assist with dishes and light cleaning; to run a study group for residents, etc.; to volunteer to work one time or commit to a schedule; to assist with organizing and advertising of various local community projects.
Giving Tree Gift Program
Organize gift collection for local children/families; late Nov. - early Dec.
Council of Congregations Hospital Support Services
Participate in a program that provides short-term emergency help for patients and their families. This may include transportation, child care, patient sitting, overnight housing for out-of-town family.
Deliver Meals On Wheels
Drive and deliver Meals on Wheels for a two-week commitment both in spring and fall.
Food Pantry Deliveries
Collect, organize and periodically deliver food donations to needy families; to purchase perishable goods as needed; there are two referrals per week.
Foodmobile Distributions
Help with truckload food give away; three or four times a year on a Saturday morning.
Furniture Pickup/Delivery
Participate in empty tomb, inc. program to pickup donated furniture and deliver it to those in need; currently scheduled for the 4th Saturday morning each month.
Habitat for Humanity
Help build a new home for a local family in need with other local Methodist churches. Both skilled and unskilled workers are needed.
Home Maintenance
Help repair owner-occupied homes through empty tomb’s year-round program of Adopt-a Project or for special projects.
Souper Bowl of Caring
Help plan and conduct a special offering on Super Bowl Sunday; to provide funds for Foodmobile Distributions.
National & Global Outreach Ministry Team
Assist with planning and goals for special projects promoting missions; this group is for people who find joy knowing their time, talents and gifts provide support and comfort for people in need in our Nation and the World, meets the 4th Thursday evening each month.
Alternative Giving
Assist with “purchases” of these wonderful alternative gifts a few Sunday mornings at the Alternative Giving Table; to assist people with the selection of mission gifts and gift cards.
CROP Walk
Participate in the Spring CROP Walk for world hunger, either by walking or by being a sponsor.
Family A.S.P.
Work with the team of families in an annual weekend “life changing” mission trip; to help make homes in Appalachia warmer, safer, and drier. Usually in the fall.
Global Missions Potluck Dinner
Help organize, advertise, set-up and clean up for the annual Missions dinner, usually in the spring.
Midwest Missions Distribution Center
Spend a day in Chatham, Illinois putting together packages for people in need, disasters and emergencies throughout the world.
Domestic Mission Projects
Work with a team to plan, fellowship and train with other adults; to enhance your personal spiritual development; to travel and provide building assistance to a mission area in need, such as the gulf coast.
International Adult Mission Projects
Work with a team to plan, fellowship and train with other adults; to enhance your personal spiritual development; to travel and provide building assistance to a mission area in need. We usually carry out one international mission trip per year.
Mission Connection
Assist in organizing speakers and workshops on mission experiences & opportunities.
